Sub-Committees
These are the sub-committees of the APA WV which help to guide the chapter forward.
Professional Development Committee
This committee shall plan, assist, and implement professional development events and opportunities for the chapter to encourage AICP membership; assist those preparing to take the AICP exam; advise prospective members as to the qualifications, purpose, and programs of AICP; serve as the chapter’s advocate for the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct; coordinate chapter input into the accreditation review of potential West Virginia based planning programs; support the networking of planning professionals; support AICP planners in achieving compliance with the CM program through advertising, sponsoring, promoting, and conducting CM training; and advise the Treasurer and Finance Committee of the budget needs for the APA WV professional development program and budget; and may perform other tasks as requested by the Executive Committee or by a majority of a quorum of the chapter related to chapter professional development.

Legislative Committee
This committee shall work on legislative updates and promote good land use law within West Virginia.

Membership Committee
This committee shall expand the knowledge of the APA WV Chapter and its mission, to help build a positive reputation for the APA WV Chapter, to increase and strengthen the overall membership of the Chapter, and may perform other tasks as requested by the Executive Committee or by a majority of a quorum of the chapter related to chapter membership and chapter reputation

Finance Committee
This committee shall draft a budget of the annual expenses, draft a five-year budget, recommend fees / rates for membership and service, and provide other financial recommendations, as requested, to the Treasurer and Executive Committee.
